Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR is an intensive 8-week course that offers powerful methods for reducing stress and teaching ways to actively participate in your health and well-being. The course is designed to transform your relationship to stress, improve your health, and enhance enjoyment of life. If you are dealing with illness, chronic pain, anxiety, depression or coping with grief or loss, the course provides beneficial tools to work skillfully with these situations and conditions. It also is well-suited for those who seek to gain more balance and peace from the stresses and demands of work and daily life.
The class meets weekly with an additional one-day retreat. Participants are given practices to do at home on a daily basis in between class meetings to reinforce the concepts taught in class. I co-teach the course with Rebecca Hines, and the course curriculum we use is modeled on the curriculum developed at Stress Reduction Clinic at the UMass Center for Mindfulness.
